I disagree that it is essentially private behavior.

I am not necessarily against the legalization of pot.

I disagree. We are the wealthiest society on earth, and have the highest rate of consumption, period. There are still many people who do not use, who might if it were destigmatized, the penalties were reduced, or it were easier to obtain.
