If your point was to compare Iraq to Germany and Japan, you didn't make much progress.

No, that wasn't my point. We are trying to help Afghanistan rebuild, which is both necessary and admirable. It is a far greater challenge than we will face with Iraq, but we don't shrink from it. Nobody argues that we should not even try.

So why do the nay-sayers gloom and doom about Iraq, which will be far less challenging than Afghanistan?
