I spent time on Tuesday reflecting. I discovered that, if I wasn't careful, I could still feel my house shake and still see the smoke. Yesterday I planned to leave the TV off all day and not think about it any more. I had lunch with an old friend. In the course of that, I drove from near National Airport to near Dulles and back. It was a bright, sunny day, traffic was thin, and the sky was utterly devoid of planes, just like that day a year ago. The same eerie feeling of abnormality came over me and there was no escaping it. I'm glad yesterday is over. When I checked SI, I found the "discussion" here unseemly. Yet it was oddly comforting, it was so normal...
