Honeywell Cuts 3rd-Qtr and Full-Year Profit Forecasts (Update1)
By Jonathan Berr

Morris Township, New Jersey, Sept. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Honeywell International Inc., the largest maker of cockpit electronics, reduced its third-quarter and 2002 profit forecasts for the second time this year because an economic recovery isn't materializing.

Third-quarter profit will be 50 cents to 52 cents a share, Honeywell said in statement. Full-year profit will be $2 to $2.05.

Sales of commercial aerospace equipment, automation controls, such as those used to measure liquid in factories, and of chemicals haven't been meeting the company's projections. In July, Chief Executive Officer David Cote cut the company's forecast to as low as $2.25 for the year and to as low as 60 cents for the quarter.

Analysts expected 60 cents in the quarter and $2.27 this year, the average estimates from a survey by Thomson First Call. Cote said Honeywell is facing a ``difficult'' operating environment.

Shares of Honeywell, based in Morris Township, New Jersey, fell 18 cents to $28.34 at 4:17 p.m. in composite trading on the New York Stock Exchange. They have dropped 16 percent since the start of the year.

13. For WOWs to be eligible to win the wag, they must trade in the nude.

OMG! That would be easier to do if the Mr. weren't retired and I had an office somewhere besides home. <gg>

What does NAZWAG stand for ?? You seem to have a good thread here, but lots of OT posts, I wish posters would stick only to individual stocks news and topics, but of course its only a wish , nothing more :)

The Nazwag Rules
1. WAG must be in by 12:00noon Eastern Time
2. On days where the market closes early, the WAG must be in by 10:00am Eastern Time
3. Winner must be within 10pts of the closing price (fractions count)
4. WAG cannot be within 3.99 pts of any other WAG
5. Whoever starts the WAG is in ultimately in charge of awarding the prize. However, sometimes AW or JXM may jump in and award the prize if it is not done in a timely manner.
6. JXM, at his discretion, may bend the rules.
7. Making sport of Lazarus Long will generally earn some leeway if you are looking for JXM to bend the rules in your favor
8. JXM may at times employ a sexist bias in favor of the Women of the WAG (WOW).
9. Closing price is based on that which is reported on yahoo's financial site. finance.yahoo.com^IXIC
10. The NAZWAG header *must* be in the first line of the post. Whoever omits the header is disqualified automatically.
11. Changes to your WAG can be made under the following circumstances:
a. You can change your WAG outside of the 15 minute edit window only if you initiated the WAG for the day and it is before the market open and nobody else has posted their WAG. This is done by responding to your original post with the change.
b. You can change your WAG inside the 15 minute window if it is before the market opens and nobody else has posted their WAG.
c. in the case of simultaneous posting of the same WAG (+/- 3.99pts), the first person to get posted can either keep the original WAG and let the other person change, or they may opt to change their WAG and let the second person keep the WAG.
12. The 3.99pt rule does not apply to Lazarus Long's wags. If you choose, it is acceptable to come within .01 of his wag. It is not acceptable for Laz to initiate the breakage of the 3.99pt rule.
13. For WOWs to be eligible to win the wag, they must trade in the nude. DOWs (doods of the wag) are exempt from this rule because nobody wants to see their fat bellies anyway.
14. WAGs are to be listed in ascending order. Those who flagrantly defy this rule will have their toenails painted Fuscia.
15. Rules can be applied retroactively when JXM approves
16. JXM will add more rules when he can think of them
If you are looking for the NAZWAG rules, search on "Rules" or looking in the subject header.
