Powell was aginst Desert Storm and driving Saddam out of Kuwait as documented in the book, The General's War. It's amazing that he gets credit for Desert Storm after he also counselled Bush to back off on finishing off the Republican Guard and Saddam. I guess for him it was more important to US national security to go after Noriega in Panama.

I agree 100% about Powell.
Our Sec of defense OTOH is a total moron.
Wanted to go into Afganistan without any battle plans.

Great article in last weeks Newsweek about how they are trying to force Powell out.
The morons probably will.

yes, I think the president has to be getting SOME good advice while Powell remains in the cabinet ... the problem is one of discernment. Rummy and cheney probably drown Powell out. Who knows --

I hope we don't go to Iraq.

I hope there is some agenda being pursued that just makes it look like we'll go to pressure him or something.
