Lets hope our country is wise enough to avoid a War that may be unnecessary and counter-productive.

I also hope the US can avoid a war, for both the sake of American soldiers and the Iraqi people, who have suffered enough already.

But I hope even more avoiding Saddam obtaining a "nuclear shield" behind which to hide and which will forever lock the US into another "cold war" with an individual who perceived himself as a "modern Saladin".

I'll be quite happy to have UN inspectors engaging in a REAMING and thorough inspection process. A process where they have carte blanche TO GO ANYWHERE, AT ANYTIME.

Under such circumstances Saddam would be perceived as incredibly weak and he would be blamed by his rivals and "supporters" for bringing such an invasive inspection process down upon them.

But one thing you should remember about those "Neocons".. Had it not been for those "hawks" pressing for the US to take unilateral action, NONE of the current UN "activities" (such as Bush's speech this morning) would currently been taking place.

Just like children, sometimes you have to take your belt and put them over your knee before they pay attention to you.

And since the UN has little coercive power to implement its "resolutions", it defaulted to the US to make a return of the inspectors happen.. Only this time there will be NO room for Saddam to "fool around".
