OT [Knoppix] does it beat Red Hat 7.x ?

"Never change a winning team". If your RedHat is installed and running there's no need to change it. Knoppix is good for "newbies" who always wanted to try Linux but were afraid of setup troubles (and yes, they exist; last night I spent three hours configuring a nVidia GeForce card). Knoppix does an excellent hardware recognition job and is a good choice for a first try. If the tester likes it he can either stick with it or switch to a full, disk-based distribution like Red Hat, SuSE or Debian which naturally have advantages to the read-only approach of Knoppix.
