Several hundred Taliban soldiers remain imprisoned at Guantanámo Bay, Cuba, under the same circumstances, with the defense secretary declaring that they would not be released even if they were someday tried and found to be innocent. These actions are similar to those of abusive regimes that historically have been condemned by American presidents.

Like Jimmie Boy would do anything different...

Heck.. his military would never have been able to carry out an action like we did in Afghanistan. They couldn't even manage to put together a raid on Tehran..

The detainees are a terrible problem... They exist in a legal twilight zone since they are not official combatants, yet they pose and clear and present danger to global society based upon their previous actions and convictions.

If we had the intestinal fortitude of our forefathers, they would be taken out and hung at dawn. But that's not particularly "PC" in this day and age.

So we continue to hold them indefinitely on an Island from which they cannot truly escape (unless they consider Castro's Cuba a destination).

Too bad we're running short on deserted islands.
