Higher prices do not guarantee higher profits. First, if you can sell a hundred units at $10 dollars, but only 70 units at $11, and the cost increases by a dollar, you cannot afford to raise your price to cover the costs, but must squeeze profits. Second, if you can sell 100 lollipops at 15 cents, but 200 at 10 cents, you are making more money at the lower cost(assuming the same profit margin).
