Win, Why don't you answer the question? In free giveaway's our current portion is small compared to the EU or Japan. However, theirs have strings atached as well. For historical perspective - lets talk since WW2 - and the amounts add up. The question stands. We all wind up wondering if the aid simply make us feel good. Kind of like handing the neighborhood bum a couple of bucks. Quite different from trying to find out why he is on the street and working to prevent it. In many cases today our aid winds up in the wrong hands - like trying to help alcoholics with charity only to dicover the charity is administered by a brewery. John
