What's bugging me is that I can't resolve what I've read there with what Apple says about the new machines its very simple, Bare feats did only four tests on the athlon Mp and 2.8 mhz computer and the dual G4, two of them i believe were not multiprocessor aware from memory, and two of them were not altivec aware from memory....... one of them was neither multi processor aware nor altivec aware.... and your wondering how such a crippled test beat even the dual athlon???? apple did all of their tests using multiprocessor aware professional software that needs to be fast..... so of course apple's tests showed the G4's faster, because they are faster at doing professional speed hungry apps..... if you want to test how fast it takes a key stroke to place a letter on your email, then you shouldn't be worrying about how fast your processor is..... that is apple's point in their tests..... BareFeats is doing test on software that is not multiprocessor aware for what ever reason...... even though they were testing a multiprocessor athlon..... and a multiprocessor G4...... and then they wondered why the 2.8 beat a 3200 ghz athlon? didn't you have a curious bone in your body as to why a 2.8 beat a combined 3200 ghz athlon in one of the tests of only four? the reason is obvious and they showed it in their notes... losely quoted they said something like this "this function test is not multiprocessor aware nor altivec aware") jon.
