Number 6 on that map, Sao Tome, is reported to to be a deep water hot spot. If you do the continental shift back in time, Venezuela fits right into that pocket of Africa.

Darleen, that piece from the BBC was very interesting, especially the map of the new "scramble for Africa".

There's no doubt that wars/revolutions/anarchy in Africa will continue for a long time to come as various interests compete for the oil. And, of course, poverty since there's no way that the profits from the oil will find their way to the "ordinary" people, just as in the Arab countries.
