(don't think i haven't sough out the jewish perspective as well). in his book he argues that the lands now in dispute were largely unsettled- and there was no established government or borders. (kind of like the indian argument). of course as mr netanyahu just said in front of congress yesterday, no analogies are perfect. neither is this one. for one thing, when the white man came to the americas he had not been here before. jews had been in palestine before and were expelled by the romans and others. so there is a historical claim there, although the arabs have just as much a claim to the area as do the jews. that's why it is not a black or white issue. at any rate, you might be asking yourself, if your ancestors chased the indians off the land and then systematically chased away all the other colonial powers, went to war with the mexicans, etc. to get the nice chunk of land you are today free to enjoy called the united states, who are you to criticize israel for seeking to return to its historical lands even if that meant chasing away others in the same fashion? and i would tell you exactly this: my main beef is not with israel trying to be the hegemon of the region. that is exactly what america unapologetically became in this hemisphere, sometimes at the expense of other peoples. but what is history is history and cannot be undone. if israel wants to dominate the middle east the way the united states dominated here so be it. but there is just one little problem. when we (meaning the united states) support israel in this regard, (and i do mean support to the tune of $100 billion in aid), we clearly generate animosity between the arab world and the united states. i don't think there is a vital national interest for the united states to give $100 billion in aid to israel so they can use U.S fighters and bombs that say made in the u.s.a to kill arab peoples and thereby inflame resentment and hostility toward the united states in the entire arab world. i think most americans would agree with this point of view and see the issue quite clearly if there was not a jewish-dominated media which distorted and manipulated public thought. i bet most americans don't know of the extensive jewish terrorism used to drive the british out of palestine before the war for independence, and then after that succeeded, further terrorism utilized to drive away hundreds of thousands of arabs. i bet most americans don't know that israel deliberately attacked and sunk the u.s.s. liberty killing 34 american seamen and wounding 171 more, with unmarked fighters and torpedo boats, to make it look as if egypt had attacked the u.s. i bet most americans don't know of the lavon affair, where eqyptian jews acting as agents of israel's bengurion government exploded terrorist bombs on american installations in egypt making it look like egyptian nationals were to blame. apparently in an effort to inflame relations between egypt and the u.s. so america would be drawn to israel's side in conflicts. the only reason the plot was ever uncovered was because one of the bombs exploded prematurely on its way to its target, exposing the jewish plot. i bet most americans aren't aware that israeli agents of the mossad planted devices in libya that broadcast messages making it appear that libya was behind a discotheque bombing in germany. i'm sure people remember reagan's ordered bombing of libya over this incident, which it turns out had nothing to do with the incident. i bet most americans aren't aware that israel has spit in the face of american generosity to the tune of $100 billion in aid and military arms, by selling our radar technology and other sophisticated weaponry technology such as the patriot missile to the communist chinese. i could go on further with incidents of israeli sanctioned spying on america, but i think you get the drift. america bends over backwards to help defend israel, and they stab us in the back and the prime minister ariel sharon has the nerve to imply that bush was acting like neville chamberlain. how does bush return the favor? by calling ariel sharon "a man of peace". only in a country in the tight grip of a jewish stranglehold is this behavior tolerated!!
