Does anyone have any idea how long a device("super Geiger counter) like the one Charles Schumer suggests would take to develop, produce and install in as many places as it would need to be installed? And what the cost would be???

I sure don't...but since Congress is so evenly divided, and seems to debate, and pontificate for so long, then go home for multiple recesses during the year....I wonder how long it would even take to get through Congress...let alone develop, manufacture and install it....

>>>>>>>>>>The good news is that scientists at our national energy labs believe the Geiger counter could be improved to detect nuclear devices 40 to 50 feet away. This super-Geiger counter should be installed on every crane that loads or unloads a container of cargo bound for the United States, and above every toll booth that trucks pass under at the Mexican and Canadian borders. Senator John Warner and I have introduced legislation to develop and eventually install such devices. We are attempting to add it to the homeland security legislation now being debated by the Senate<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
