US and Pakistani officials said they on Saturday were questioning key al-Qaeda suspect Ramzi Binalshibh. He was arrested in Pakistan, said a report.
Binalshibh, wanted by Germany for his alleged role in planning and carrying out the hijacked plance attacks on the US, is one of the most important members of al-Qaeda to be taken into custody over the last year.

A US official said Binalshibh was captured in Karachi by Pakistani authorities with help from the FBI and CIA.

In Pakistan, officials said Binalshibh and several other suspects had been detained on Wednesday after three-hour-gun battle, and said they were being questioned at a source location inside Pakistan.

I wrote <<Abu Zubayda and Ramzi are the biggest of the catches within Alqaeda hierarchy and with this catch it will be known to US intelligence if Osama is alive or dead, if anyone knows about his whereabouts this is the guy and he is now in safe hands of US intelligence and in custody of ‘sources’ who will make sure he talks. This will help crush a lot of cells and this is the biggest of the catch in terms of elimination of cells in my opinion.>>

NYT reporting..The first fruits.. the new catch- Yemani's arrested- some one is talking somewhere..that someone is for sure 'Mr. Ramzi Binalshibh' hopefully..

NYT <<The arrests in New York suggest that, for the first time since the Sept. 11 attacks, the Justice Department may have detected and shut down an active Qaeda terrorist cell in the United States.

Law enforcement officials in Washington said they had no evidence to suggest that any attack by the group was imminent.>>

Great summary, Ike. I have sent this post to my relatives and fellow retired Marines, telling them not to give up hope for the good guys.
