Taking the entire Gulf for the next colonial period, which will inevitably emerge from the war against world Islam, is not a problem. Occupation is. It goes against the American grain to be occupiers. We will need an "agent" state that has no compunction about keeping its firing squads and prisons up and running (the only solution for an occupation of the backward and fatally-flawed Islamic world).

The best candidate, over the next 5 to 10 years will probably be the Russians. We share the oil revenue with them, and they keep the animals in line. We will, however, most likely contract with several other states for occupation of other parts of the Islamic world. That is the nature of the French, and it hasn't changed, despite their decadent post-liberation politics. Israel will take care of Palistine, and this nonsense about a ridiculous "Palistinian state" will quickly disappear.

Gradually the Islamic world will be encouraged to develop in the way that post war Japan did, though it may take a lot longer, as Japan was already literate and developed when we occupied them. The New World, much more terrorist resistant, will thus develop by the middle of he 21st Century. The Iraq war is simply an early step...
