Hi there, Rose, long time no see. I trust you are doing OK. You certainly sound as chirpy and happy as usual.

These are some SA news links which may be of help in finding more info about those platinum alloys:
mg.co.za
iol.co.za
bday.co.za
sundaytimes.co.za
free.financialmail.co.za
news24.com
africaintelligence.com
ananzi.co.za

I must say, I haven't heard of the process before and it's not in any of the above links (including the Mail & Guardian) so it must be very "new".

Of course, these days, as with biotech "discoveries", the news of anything "new" gets into the media before the "discovery" has even been made. In fact, one doesn't know if it ever will be! It's almost like a guy blabbing about making some girl pregnant --- before he's even gone out on a date with her.

Perhaps, like with the biotechs, someone wanted to flog some platinum stocks and so started spreading some very bullish news about a new process which will cause a revolution in the industry etc etc.

I imagine soon we'll be hearing how every African will be wearing a platinum ring just like some bright spark once worked out that if every Chinaman bought a gold coin it would do wonders for the gold price.

I must tell you that we've been told for a long time about the importance and need for the local beneficiation of the noble metals which are mined in SA but, to my knowledge, nothing much has happened. I think you should know by now that South Africans, like Australians, are very big talkers but possibly not very big doers.

Billboard is doing OK, thanks for asking, although I have to say that the outdoor advertising business has slacked off quite a lot and it's not easy finding clients these days.

Keep well.
