The last official news we had on the Iraqi nuclear threat was that Iraq had tried to import some aluminum tubing that could have been used to build gas centrifuges that might have let them get enough fissile material to build a bomb in 5-7 years. If, of course, they managed to get all the other pieces together and build a rather large scale facility in secret and operate it for years without it getting bombed.

Plots from movie thrillers work much better that actual intelligence when the war drums are banging, though.
