<I would not characterize Pakistan as 'medieval society'> A society where human throat can be slit like a lamb, a society where a woman can be raped on orders of tribal judges and a society where 45% of fewer than 7 years old do not see the face of a school is literally is quite a medieval society. Eradication of poverty and provision of basic health and education to every child is first sign o maturity of nation, if I need to be called an advance nation my infant mortality rate should be 10-15 out of 1000 born, it is now hovering around 70-80 that signals to me that we are primitive, we haven ot been able to transfer benefits of openness and connectivity to lowest common denominator. Much as I love my nation I know my weaknesses well, once you know your weakness well you derive strength from that knowledge, it makes you strong and it helps you to prepare for the worst. One can only be objective if one knows what is wrong with his nation, xenophobia is quite rampant in present day and age. Xenophobic and bigots are dime a dozen, I like to rise above that. The mantra of ‘we are great’ blinds nations, they go through a period of self-delusion and self-aggrandizement, most of them never recover until they hit the bottom hard. WE have to arrest our fall and make a transition to a humane and a better society, <BTW, I have friends in Lahore & Karachi that would be fairly upset with that characterization :-)> I assure you that most of my friends do not agree with my posts and they don't read them, most of my articles are rarely accepted by my own paper even edited versions, it is only this small little space I can dwell freely and let myself free to endeavour into unknown. Again that said the ability to fine-tune one ambition with reality is real test of an individual, same applies to nations too. The sum totals of one abilities and ambitions should be perfect harmony that is the bottom line for individuals and nations alike. I write every post with these guidelines in my mind and hence try to keep a focus that may be somewhat fair, I try my best to be fair but I am sure that I am not and in process make some silly mistakes. I have no grand design about my abilities the reason is clear ‘ we are just not good enough’ so what we do we keep trying for betterment, that keeps me going. Truly yours... Amen..
