Iraq is no threat to the US. The very fact that Bush is so anxious to attack them is because he knows they cannot effectively retaliate. The secular Hussein is a bitter enemy of Islamic fanatics like Bin Laden. However Iraq has huge oil reserves and is a potential threat to Israel some years hence. Not surprisingly, many of the most extreme warhawks in the Administration are fanatical Likudniks like Richard Perle and/or people with close ties to the oil industry like Dick Cheney.
