Allan, there wasn't really a question
buried in there, just a few comments on the Rydex discussion.

I'll bet you remember the old TV commercial "when Dean Witter speaks, people listen." Well on this board when AA speaks, people listen. So when you mention the Rydex numbers and how shorts should be given pause at this time because of them, it brings out the many questions that have been brought up the board's recent discussion that imply "why here? and "why now?" and "what makes this different than other times" and "how important is this to you as a timing tool and why?"

I've noticed that there are a few people on the board who seem to place more emphasis on sentiment in their trading decisions than others, and I'm in the category of those that use it as a secondary indicator. But having said that, the next time we have a VIX over 50 intraday I think I'll be getting my buy button ready to cover <g>

About the MACD, as a timing tool I've been using the trendline beaks of the convergence/divergence in the timeframes I previously mentioned in the reply to John, Otherwise I watch for the intraday histogram to go below zero to confirm moving average crossovers for my trade signals, and I watch it to top out or bottom out to let me know if it might be time to SAR.
