Iraq has al-Qaida links, claims report

The Prime Minister is planning to reveal that Saddam Hussein has trained leading al Qaida terrorists, according to a newspaper.

The Sunday Telegraph claims he has a dossier containing details on how two of Osama bin Laden's top men underwent training in Iraq.

The report allegedly shows Abu Zubair and Rafid Fatah still have links to the Baghdad regime.

Downing Street has refused to comment on the dossier ahead of its publication on Tuesday September 24, when Parliament will debate Iraq.

A spokeswoman also refused to comment on reports Mr Blair is to confront members of his Cabinet to sort out the "doves" from the "hawks".

Mr Blair is to hold a Cabinet meeting a week on Monday, the day before Parliament is recalled and the details of the dossier are revealed to MPs.

The Sunday Telegraph says the evidence stems from pictures of "worrying activity" at three sites near Baghdad, reconstructed to manufacture biological and chemical weapons.

It will set out the details of how Mr Zubair and Mr Fatah were trained in Iraq, the newspaper claims.
