Yes, Hopkins would be a good fight. Man, that would be a tough pick for me. Understand Trinidad was at the bout. Wonder if this might be a pre-cursor for a re-match. Hope so. Trinidad would lose a second bout IMMHO. :-)

LP, after 9 rounds I had it 5-4 DLH. Big George had it right when he said in the 9th round "When Vargas is close, he takes over." Vargas lost sight of that in rounds 6-8 which I thought DLH clearly won.

After 5 rounds I had it 3-2 for Vargas. I thought Vargas really laid a beating on DLH, especially with his body shots in the 5th round.

That was an old fashioned "shoeshine" DLH did at the very end of the 10th round. He worked his way up -- body, body, body, left hook. Vargas' achillies heel again separating him from the ranks of great fighters to one who is very good.

I thought it was a brutal fight. Hard on both men. But like you said, LP, Vargas now has nowhere to go. A Hopkins - DLH matchup is a great way to go. I'd love to see it. I'd pick Hopkins.

I thought Mayweather did a terrific job in DLH's corner. He gave excellent advice and I think he imparted that "roll your shoulder" defense to DLH that he demonstrated in the postfight interview. That defense is a staple of the Mayweather clan.

A tip of the cap to Floyd.
