Name two major new sources of income for SUNW since telecomm collapsed.

I read the transcript of the mid-quarter call, and there wasn't much info there except general IT trends and specific sun hardware.

This article might have more of what you are looking for- it looks like Sunw is going to partner with SIs and software companies to go against IBM in corp. IT. One piece of good news for this strategy might be Oracle's numbers coming up tuesday (I'm thinking/hoping they will be good).

Each center is a place for Sun to display products for solving business problems in the manufacturing, government, health care, education, and retail, sectors -- areas where Sun desperately needs to build its market share. The multi-million dollar Menlo Park facility, in particular, is a place for Sun's employees to join with other tech company talent to build customized solutions.

They are expected to take at least some business that would normally go to IBM. And they may even help Sun take some business away from high-priced consulting groups.

The selling process has changed dramatically from just a few years ago, when Sun sold equipment based on the strength of its hot hardware boxes, and on its slick marketing mantras.
