Hi Nadine Carroll; Re: "That would explain the protracted guerilla war in France, I guess."

During WW2, France carried on a guerilla war with direct assistance from the remaining allies, but that assistance was hardly required. A lot of people in France would have fought anyway.

France was not crushed by the Germans in WW2, nor did they sign an unconditional surrender. They were out maneuvered and then signed an armistice, and that sort of victory is not the complete devastation that pacifies a population. On June 26, 1940, despite the armistice, there were still plenty of people in France who did not feel that they were beaten. So they fought on.

Re: "I know your motto is 'never give up an argument', but this is getting desperate." LOL!!!

Re: "Ans: the EU, Iran, Iraq and the US (until recently). And the whole Arab world chips into Hamas et. al. (remember the Saudi telethon?). Arafat has gotton bilions, not to mention all the funding Hamas and Hizbullah get from their 'charities'. If the Pals had to rely on their own resources, Israel would definitely have had an easier time."

What a joke. Where are all the airliners that the Palestinians are shooting down with the stinger anti-aircraft missiles that the US and the EU are supplying them with? Where are all the destroyed Israeli tanks from the anti-tank missiles? Why is it that the Palestinians have to make home-made rockets and explosives instead of using modern US weapons systems?

Yes, Iraq and Iran (and everybody else in the area, including even the Egyptians) would love to arm the Palestinians, but there is no easy way to get the weapons over there. With Iraq, the borders are much longer, but more importantly, all the neat stuff that the Palestinians wish they had is already present in the country.
