I thought Vargas had his best round in the 5th. At that point in the fight, I thought a DLH KO was in the cards. Vargas really beat DLH up that round and cut off the ring beautifully. Vargas was leading with body shots and then moved DLH to the ropes where Vargas did his best work of the night.

DLH opened that cut below Vargas' eye in the 6th round and the momentum of the fight turned dramatically after that. DLH admitted that after he saw Vargas' blood, he "wanted more".

>> I think that might be the worst the Golden Boy has been hurt in a very, very long time. Certainly worse than at any point in recent fights against Castellejo, Gatti, Mosely, or even Trinidad. <<

making his victory even more sweet.

i was telling my husband this afternoon...( he was remarking at how much i was "for" diva..) and i told him going into the fight i really had no personal favorite but certainly by the 6th round i was in diva's corner...

i love a fight where a guy takes some heavy hits, recovers, adjusts and then wins decisively.
