Islamist culture did not attack us; only Al Q.

John, "Islamists" has come to mean the radical fundamentalists within "Islam." Al Q is an organization, composed of some of these fanatics, that attacked us. I am not trying to blame all of Islam as our enemy.

The lead story in this month's "New Yorker" is "The Man Behind bin Laden, How Ayman al-Zawahiri, an Egyptian doctor, became Al Qaeda's guiding force." by Lawrence Wright. It details the rise of the "Islamists" from the "1930's" Egypt though the killing of Sadat to the present. Not available on line, but a "Must Read," IMO.
