I'm sorry
for me that isn't funny
if he was seeking sympathy from me, for that, it would not be funny. And if his daughter is not a child with a disability, it isn't decent to suggest that she is. I do not understand why he mentioned her. But I don't find what you just said appropriate. I may be overly sensitive about posts dealing with children with disabilities. I admit that. There isn't anything I can do about it.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself for that remark.

Why in the world would you make a comment like that? If you and JLA want to flame one another, fine, but keep children out of it. It is rather, well, icky.......

"Maybe the reason he shared that information with you is because his daughter's gymnastics are Special Olympics gymnastics and he's seeking sympathy from you."

I have three daughters who are each active in various interests and who keep me quite busy running a shuttle bus from one activity to another. If any one of them were in Special Olympics Gymnastics, I would be as much of a cheerleader for these events as any other. The comment about "seeking sympathy" is bigotedly insulting toward persons with disabilities. Sympathy is the last thing people want or need when advocating for their freinds and relatives who struggle with disabilities. I am sure that comment was disheartening for any of the persons who post here and have relatives with disabilities. From what I can gather it is a fairly common trait among our colleagues here.

I am disappointed in you for making such a thoughtless crack Chris.
