A couple of years ago, I noticed my son was having difficulty admitting that he was mistaken, even when it was clearly proven. Further, even when he made such an admission, he resisted apologizing. He said it made him feel like a girl, that is, that he was not being strong and masculine, but weak and feminine. After much remonstrance, on more than one occasion, I finally convinced him that it was not only good, but brave, to admit a mistake, and that "real men" did apologize, because they were strong enough to take the heat for their acts. He is much better now on such matters. It is too bad that he is in advance of so many adults on this thread.......
