Verizon Wireless this week will unveil the first GPS (Global Positioning System) phone for its new high-speed cell phone network, sources said Monday. The phone, the Samsung A310, will be sold for $250, and a $50 rebate will be offered, according to sources. A Verizon Wireless representative declined to comment.
Verizon Wireless sells other GPS phones, but only the A310 will work on its Express Network, a high-speed cell phone network Verizon Wireless built using advanced versions of Qualcomm's CDMA (code division multiple access) technology.
