What is international law and order? The opinions of diplomats mainly representing despotic regimes? The opinions of regimes only recently mired in Fascism or Communism, or perhaps still mired in them? Treaties to which we were not signatory, or where we had reservations and a mechanism for termination? In fact, the term "international law" is a misnomer, since there is no competent authority to enforce it, and law without enforcement is merely advice or agreement.

As for freedom to roll over others at will, we are not now nor have ever been in that position. Even as the only standing super power, our practical ability to achieve foreign policy goals is rather limited, as should be obvious. If we ever behaved in a manner that a coalition of forces from the former Soviet Union, China, and the EU were to rise against us, we would be in deep trouble. Our "hegemony" depends a lot on other nations respecting us and seeing it as being preferable to work with us..........

Well, true Freedom certainly requires responsibility, a word which the work Freedom is literally originally rooted in! This "responsibility thing," that goes hand in hand with freedom, doesn't allow a force to roll over others at will, by definition. Freedom respects and protects individual rights.

Freedom Works,
