I understand that the way it was stated was offensive to you. Free speech often enables offensive speech. I always think of the Nazis, and how offensive they are to me. But it would be much more terrible if they were not allowed to speak. Your real love of country and support of the constitution is not tested by words you agree with, it is tested by your committment to let other people, with whom you disagree, have a voice. (I'll put "IMO" here)
