Annan gives Bush credit for creating the "urgency to change" Iraq's position.

If we had gone with one of the "Containment" or "negotiation" or "do nothing" positions recommended by posters here, nothing would have happened. It took a believable threat of war to get Saddam this far. Now we will see how soon he starts stalling.

"We are working with the U.N. Security Council to determine the most effective wat to reach our goal."

I wonder how long the White House will take before they reassess their "goal" from being "regime change" to being "inspections", and begin bragging over their success. I also wonder how many nations knew that Iraq would make this move ahead of time.

In any case, I think this is great news and calls for major celebrations.
