Thanks for the quick response. My wife works for a defense contractor and uses her 'work' laptop at home on the WAN frequently. Corporate Security stops by to make sure that WAN has encryption enabled. I asked if they wanted me to go to 128 bit, they said 64 was fine.

Perhaps tomorrow afternoon, I'll disable WEP to see if there's a change.

RE: what didn't work is entering the WEP phrase into the instant wireless config utility! I finally learned that all I had to do there is flip to '128 bits'. The encryption must be transferred automatically from the router setup utility.

Humm. I was under the impression that 128 bit encryption might slow the WAN down significantly. Maybe I'll give that a shot. I also may try manually entering the four fields for the new laptop.
