you would be better off asking the other people in your office what they use and see who has good service. there is too much variation in service quality depending on the region to give blanket statements. e.g., i have the opposite situation at my home, where i have a strong signal from AT&T but no signal from Sprint.

You should ask locals about reception by providers but my guess is that Verizon is the one you want. Bell Atlantic would have been the former RBOC for that area and they would have good coverage at 800 mhz which tends to go the furthest into valleys etc (more than 1900). Bell Atlantic also has plans for the east region if you want extra minutes but are only going to call from Connecticut to North Carolina. Of course if you want to call or travel to other regions it would probably be worth it to get their America's Choice plan which gives free long distance when you make calls outside the East Coast. One other thing, I would wait just a couple weeks on Verizon because they will have a bunch of new phones with color screens, GPS, and PDA choices coming very soon. Good luck.

On the new Verizon phones this might be interesting to you but it isn't a PDA. You would still get high data rate though if you plugged it into your notebook computer or to a PDA.

Verizon to launch phone for new network

Verizon Wireless this week will unveil the first GPS (Global Positioning System) phone for its new high-speed cell phone network, sources said Monday. The phone, the Samsung A310, will be sold for $250, and a $50 rebate will be offered, according to sources. A Verizon Wireless representative declined to comment.
Verizon Wireless sells other GPS phones, but only the A310 will work on its Express Network, a high-speed cell phone network Verizon Wireless built using advanced versions of Qualcomm's CDMA (code division multiple access) technology.
