160/105 reckless are as old as the hills. Crude but effective. the weight should absorb a large part of the recoil of the 50 tracer aiming round, but I have never fired one. They were oft mounted on jeeps and used as anti-tank. The 50 was fired first to check aim as it had the same tragic story as the reckless charge. A good operator could fire the second charge before the 50 was far on its way as it could be judged quickly.

As you can see they are not much of an affair to use. Light, discreet, small charge.

Being on the receiving end was even worse it is said.
