Applied Materials - Chip industry in 'positive, aggressive recovery' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TAIPEI (AFX-ASIA) - The global chip industry is in the process of a "positive and aggressive recovery," evidenced by improved sales value and product and material shipments, Applied Materials Taiwan chairman NK Wang said. He was quoted by the Commercial Times as saying Taiwan is bound to emerge a front runner in terms of investing in advanced capacities, since a good number of chip companies have built or started to build 12-inch-wafer fabs.
