My wife caught a radio story this morning that the child murderer in San Diego, David Westerfield, was prepared to make a deal with authorities at one point. They would not seek the death penalty if he would show them where the body was. They found it before the deal was made.

I find myself somewhat in agreement with those who find his attorney's line of defense (the parent's lifestyle) less than ethical, when he had his client's permission to present this deal to the prosecution. Possibly at that point it is the old story of "in for a dime, in for a dollar."
