I was hoping Saddam would give us enough of a rally to sell covered calls. I still have a lot of stocks that I have to adjust my basis on one point at a time. No such luck.

You correctly stated: Detroit has become a revolving door of profitless sales I dont see how they can continue to finance their whopping debt.

Jim:
On top of this they have the pension funds which are going to require billions of dollars to make up for shortfalls in projected rates of return. You are also correct when you say words to the effect that this downturn is not like any of the others we have experienced. This will end badly. The question is how long will they drag the decline out ie Japan. I say get the pain of the cleansing out of the way quickly so we can move on. But I'll bet it turns out to be like Japan a long drawn out decline. I think this is worse from a psychological stand point.
