Iraq piece from London's Evening Standard

9/17/02 12:14 PM EDT

From the Evening Standard, the following blurb suggests that the Iraqi offer is not, in fact, unconditional. The Standard said that Iraq was only prepared to allow weapons inspectors to visit military sites, which would leave open the possibility of Iraq concealing weapons at civilian sites. The Standard said the revelation came from London ambassador of the Arab League, Ali Muhsen Hamid, which brokered the deal in the first place. Ali Muhsen Hamid was quoted as saying, "We support anywhere, any military site (for inspections), but not as some people have suggested for inspections against hospitals, against schools."
