Right now NVDA is rated as a market perform. Unfortunately the market has been going down and the chip sector has been especially getting hit hard. Expect the stock will probably be down again tomorrow as the futures are down and the general equities climate is bitter to say the least. In this case it's definitely true that selling begets selling and just how do you stop a downhill runaway freight train?

Personally on the other hand I don't think the analysts have a clue about where this stock is really headed. Yesterday Prudential knocked a lot of chip stocks down. They added NVDA to the lot and chopped their 10 dollar price down to 9 but did they cut earnings estimate??? No, they didn't do that because they don't want to be seen as the idiot who was out in left field when actually earnings come out. But hey, what's so hard about putting a 9 dollar price tag on a stock that is trading 9 dollars already??? lol

I can't help noticing that while many high ranking tech companies are cutting back on R&D when things get rough(that's usually the first to go) this company is actually spending more.

A PE of about 8 as well as being listed as Number 1 on Forbes Fastest Growing Company List and people still want to short it? Hmmmm.... i'm certainly not against shorting but nimble fingers are a must here especially in light of the imminent debut of the NV30. I've heard rumors about it's debut ranging anywheres from mid Sep to late Feb. Don't know, but I believe the company hinted availability for the holiday season during their last conference call.
