Actually, that is not true. People frequently know they are doing wrong, from a strictly moral perspective, and have considerable anxiety about it, but do it anyway, hoping to resolve the issue in their favor eventually, or that they can identify sufficient mitigation to make whatever expiation is required lighter than it might be. That is what free choice is about, having to choose without having resolved the issue of what is the best thing to do, all things considered.....
