So, let me be clear.

You are saying that nobody ever does an act that they know is ethically wrong and morally unjustified, but does it anyhow, knowing at the time it is wrong?

To bring it home here, nobody every posts anything on SI that they know when they do it is wrong, or stupid, or unjustified, but they just do it?

I think you give posters here, and people in the real world, a lot more credit than they deserve.

The very notion of responsibility requires that one know the terms of choice, which means that one knows that one is transgressing ethical norms, and that there is no producible justification at that moment. But more than that, that is what plenty of people experience, transgressiveness that hopes to rationalize the act ex post facto.......
