I did watch a bit of Ritter's C-SPAN tape. I admit that I jumped around (amazed that you can do that with something downloaded from the Internet). The thing I found most striking was his insistence that his testimony in 1998 was ONLY intended as a complaint about US government interference with the UN inspectors. He may simply be naive, and not realize that nobody cares about that (very much) but everybody does care very much about his assertion that Iraq does not have WMD (2002) or did have WMD (1998). My impression is that he was either disingenuous or willfully blind with respect to that issue.

The capacity of the human mind to fool itself is astonishing.

The part of his present position that doesn't get much press is that he is adamant that inspections are still needed.

I have no idea whether I am good at telling when people lie or not but I thought he was lying about his 1998 testimony. I realize this issue doesn't matter to you but it does matter very much to me.

Falsus in unus, falsus in omnibus.

He had new information that I wish you could have seen/heard because I would like to know your opinion.

What new information? What's the source (and credibility)?

And how did Ritter get it? (since he's not been an inspector for over 4 years and had his security clearance revoked)..

Scott Ritter has compromised his credibility and I personally will listen to what he has to say, but question what his "angle" is, and whether it eminates from a grudge match against his former supervisors.
