I share your diversions, John. Though I also root for the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders.

My political addiction comes and goes, though. After awhile, it just becomes so predictable that there's no fun in it, at least at the national level.

The Bush folk are under some kind of internal pressures to get an attack done.

I believe this comes from the Wolfowitz/Woolsey/Perle argument that the actual results from inspection will be nugatory, especially when balanced against the gravity of the threat from missing hidden WMD.

This is exactly the argument which persuaded me to mentally sign on to war against Iraq. Speaking honestly, it does mean that there is nothing Saddam can do which will satisfy me. I want him gone, out of power. I would be satisfied with exile to a version of Elba.
