Dave See my earlier post on naked MM shorting.

The NASD are aware of this but are powerless to act as it is technically legal. I have been investigating this very intensively over the past few weeks. MM naked shorts ARE NOT REPORTED as part of the short position, nor do they have to cover.

However it is most effective and safest if they concentrate on a few stocks rather than spread the shorts around. Once the selling starts other non MM shorts jump in secure in the knowledge that the MMs will not let the situation get out of control.

The MM trading business is depressed these days, This is how the unscrupulous ones are making up their shortfalls.

Dave - what is there to be shocked about?
How often are huge short positions wrong.

What is disgusting (and I hope we can agree on this)
Is that they SEEM TO KNOW IN ADVANCE.

Yesterday was there ANY reason at all for a futures ramp into the close?

Well we got it then, comes the news from IRAQ?
Today the Spoos were far far weaker than the Naz.
Tonight JPM warns.
Financials were weak all day.
Any correlation or did someone know?

I believe someone always knows.
I posted it at the time.
Huge short position in ESST was OMINOUS IMO and I believe I said so on this board.

Someone knew.
Someone always does.

I do not know how.
But they do.

I really want to see Dave Gore's "safe and sane Short Plays"
I nominate S a such a candidate.
Disclosure. I have a put on S and will add on any strength.
