I agree with you mish....I too think we will see very low volumes as the bear continues. For a good example look at the cross-currents dollar trading volumes during "normal times"....(its a new cross-currents as of the 14th BTW)

if we ever get back to "normal" dollar trading volumes as pictured in the cross-currents chart, it would seem to equate to MUCH lower daily volume in the future...

I also agree with JG (godot or whomever he is now :) ) that perhaps the cost of trading will increase in order for the firms to make a profit, this too should add extra downward pressure on trading volumes.

I expect the small fry (like me) will get pushed to the side. I hope this is wrong, because I don't want to pay 300 a trade like my grandma did (and still does)....
