Sal, I saw the headlines. I don't agree it got lost because it was Palestinians attacked. Rightly or wrongly, a story about injuries, but no deaths, from a bombing in the middle east tends to get lost in a day of intensive coverage of Iraq.

amazing that this attack on school children wasn't making big headlines today.

Ok, so you have identified that the press is unsympathetic to the Palestinian cause. Something needs to be done about it, for sure. Now, do you think blowing up bombs in crowded markets is going to do the trick and turn the press around?

Why not instead explain your movement to western sensibilities in a way that can be understood by us insular Americans?

Why not put forth a clear message in such a way that would land Yasser Arafat on the cover of Vanity Fair?

Impossible you say? Well, subcommander Marcos from the Chiapas guerrilla pulled it off, Vanity Fair interview and all.

Today's published events of which I am aware. So who is the "good guy?"

"JERUSALEM -- A Palestinian blew himself up after police challenged him at a bus stop in northern Israel during evening rush hour Wednesday. One policeman was killed and two people were wounded."

"There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast near the Israeli Arab town of Umm el-Fahm. Mahmoud Zahar, a spokesman for the Islamic militant group Hamas, welcomed the attack, saying that "the Palestinians have every right to fight against the occupation.""

"Earlier Wednesday, an Israeli motorist was killed in a West Bank shooting attack claimed by the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a militia linked to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Also, the burned body of a Jewish settler was found in a West Bank garbage dump, apparently a victim of Palestinian militants. It marked the first time since Aug. 5 that Israeli civilians were killed in the West Bank."

"Also Wednesday, Israeli troops killed an armed Palestinian and wounded a second man in the West Bank village of Tamoun. The army said the two tried to run soldiers down with a car and fire on them. The mayor said the two were ambushed. He said the dead man was wanted by Israel and was active in the Al Aqsa militia."

"The head of Israel's Shin Bet security service, Avi Dichter, told the Israeli cabinet on Wednesday that the Palestinian Authority has done nothing to prevent attacks. Yitzhak Levy, an Israeli cabinet minister, said that "it's true there were a few weeks without attacks, but that doesn't mean that they [Palestinian militants] didn't try to carry out attacks.""

"In the northern West Bank, the body of Palestinian man was found in an olive grove. The man was a suspected collaborator with Israel and had been shot in the chest, residents said."
