Not strictly so, no. I attended workshops by Wong and McKeen which used acupuncture, body work, and which had gestalt influences. Basically one of us would move to the middle of the circle and begin talking, while the therapists would challenge or move the encounter with self/feelings and give it guidance. Pressure on the abdomen was often involved as well as the acupuncture on the theory that people held their emotions in their body structure and so forth. Breaking down the body often resultd in getting to extreme anger or horrific pain.

McKeen, a Westerner, used acupuncture and was trained in Chinese medicine. Ben was Chinese but was trained in traditional psychoanalysis! Together they brought together their field training and added a vast array of "new age" methods which was called "body" work. I suppose it had connections to Bioenergetics, Primal Scream and the like. I saw some amazing transformations take place...

Well, I gotta get some sleep. Thanks for chatting...
