As you know, it is a "Ponzi Scheme", taking from the young to give to the old. We have been able to afford it up to now. As the "Old Farts" like me increase in number, it will become harder to handle, but it looks doable over the rest of my lifetime. :^)

As both of you (SR and Bill) might guess, these posts get my adrenaline flowing about as fast as my last cup of coffee and since its effect still linger, my fingers are dancing on the keyboard. But I'll resist. We could all get tangled in some very long debates here.

As for the last line about our lifetimes, I share your hope. But then, to drop my resolve ever so slightly, social security is here to stay, unless the GOP gains control of both houses of Congress. Ouch!!
